Relocating to Dieterich
On behalf of the citizens and the President and Village Board of Dieterich, we welcome the opportunity to introduce you to one of the most progressive small towns in southeastern Illinois. You will appreciate our unique balance of agriculture, industry and education. We place high standards to ensure quality economic growth for the welfare of our community and to contribute to the quality of life.
Dieterich is a growing community of just over 600. Conveniently situated between St. Louis, Missouri and Terre Haute, Indiana, we are located on Illinois Route 33, 9 miles from Effingham and 7 miles from I-70. With approximately 120,000 people residing within a 30 mile radius of Dieterich, we have amenities of “small-hometown living” but close enough to larger communities to satisfy your shopping, historical and cultural desires. To facilitate our ongoing, thriving growth, we offer attractive incentives to new residents. In particular, we offer residential lots for development with incentives second to none.
Dieterich is a progressive community with an active business district, phenomenal school system, several churches and attractive residential neighborhoods and subdivisions. We offer a capable and willing workforce where our ethics remain strong.
The Village of Dieterich is indeed very friendly and the spirit of community support is high. This combined with the attributes listed above, as well as two parks and an impressive Veteran’s Memorial makes Dieterich an even more pleasing community in which to settle.

Economic Development Coordinator
